In year 2012, two MGR movies were released in the same day in two centres for 11 times. Three movies were released at the same day in three centres for 5 times.Four MGR movies were released in the same day in 4 centres one time and five MGR movies were released in the same day in 5 centres one time.

15 Black and White movies were re-released in 2012.

Four MGR movies is re-released this week in Mahalakshmi theater as part of MGR week (four movies for four days).

3 movies are black and white and one colour movie. All the three black and white movies are from Devar Films banner.

Re-Release Kumarikottam

MGR movie Kumarikottam was re-released in Broadway, Chennai. MGR Devotee Sathya had been to the movie and has forwarded some of the images and videos to share in our MGR Blog.

Re Release Ninaithathai Mudipavan III

Sri MGR Year 95, 23rd June, Saturday

 

MGR movie Ninaithathai Mudipavan was re-released previous week in Mahalakshmi theater. The video below was captured by me for the Friday matinee show.

 

The video clip is the meeting of two MGR characters Sundaram and Ranjith. All the persons will be in different costumes and Sundaram is mistaken as Ranjith. And when real Ranjith comes up for the function he has another plan.

 

The character Ranjith is a diamond smuggler he uses his look like Sundaram against Police. Here in the video clip, look how Ranjith character played by MGR, dominates Sundaram right from the start through his body language, dialogues and camera angle. People enjoyed the dashing entry performance of MGR as Ranjith, unique to drama introduction.

 

After this movie release many MGR Fans christened their new born male child as Ranjith.

Re-Release Ninaithathai Mudipavan II

Sri MGR Year 95, 19th June, Tuesday

MGR dual action movie Ninaithathai Mudipavan was re-released this week in Mahalakshmi theater. The video embed here is from the Friday matinee show that I have captured.

 

The below video is the song scene “Poomazhai Thuvi” smaller version.

 

 

The Sunday evening show was housefull, the images and videos captured by MGR Devotee Sathya will be uploaded soon. The collection till Sunday night show is Rs.40000 plus. Some one asking for proof for housefull show and collection contact the Otteri Nadigar Thilagam fans who will tell you the same, that will be more authentic.

Re – Release Alibaba Part I

Sri MGR Year 95, 7th June, Thursday

Modern Theaters first colour movie Alibabavum Narpathu Thirudargalum was re released in Mahalakshmi theater this week. For the first time the movie was released on 14.1.1956 all over South.

 

 

As usually MGR Devotee Sathya forwarded the images and videos to share in our MGR Blog.

 

After Kalangarai Vilakkam, continuously another MGR movie Alibabavum Narpathu Thirudargalum was released in Mahalakshmi theater, the banners which were fixed by various MGR Fans Association for Kalangarai Vilakkam was not removed and new banners were added this week.

100th Post

Sri MGR Year 95, 15th May, Tuesday

This is the100th post of 2012, this was all possible by MGR Devotees Tirupur Ravichandran, Bangalore S.Vinod, Sailesh Basu, Yukesh Babu  and others. Who will be contacting me frequently and forwarding the news articles to be published in our MGR Blog.

 

In the previous year 100th post was published in September but this year’s 100th post was published in May 2012.

 

Below is the ad published in Daily Thanthi for the re-release of Saravana Screens Kudieruntha Kovil in Padi Siva Sakthi as 4 shows.

 

I also received information from Tirupur Ravichandran that MGR directed movie Maduraiyai Meeta Sundarapandian was re-released in Coimbatore Delite and the Sunday evening show was housefull.

 

 

I have planned to publish the unknown informations about MGR’s interview to BBC Tamil Oosai. But the post has to be cross checked with other important person. Soon the BBC interview unknown facts will be posted in our blog and also some rare images from the Interview.

Re Release Anbay Vaa V

AVM Productions Anbay Vaa was re-released recently in Broadway theater Chennai and we have covered it in our earlier posts.

 

Here is the video clip from the movie Anbay Vaa, the video clip is the song, a group song (half part of the song) edited to the entry of our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR along with animation of Larry King Live show. The video features the awesome performance of twist dance by MGR.

 

 

Many MGR fans are seen dancing for the tune and trying to mimic MGR’s twist, see for yourself.

The news was forwarded by MGR’s grandson MGCB Pradeep and MGR Devotee S.Vinod from Bangalore.

 

Emgeeyar Pictures Adimai Penn movie was re-released yesterday in Tirupur M.G.B. Theater in Dts format. The ad image is from 13.4.2012 Coimbatore edition of Maalai malar.

 

 

After 25 years our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR black and white movie Chakravarthi Thirumagal is re-released in Coimbatore Royal theater. This ad image is from 12.4.2012 Maalai Malar Coimbatore edition.

Re-Release Anbay Vaa III

AVM Productions colour movie Anbay Vaa was re-released in Broadway 30th March 2012. This is the 3 part of the post.

 

The video was captured  by MGR Devotee Sathya. The print was not so good, I have to enhance the video.

 

The video is added with a small animation of Larry King talking with Sarah Paulin about the re-release of Anbay Vaa.

 

 

 

The video starts with MGR’s success is due to his employees and followed by the song Puthiya Vanam Puthiya Bhoomi.

K.C. Films MGR starrer Uzhaikum Karangal is re-released today in Coimbatore Delite. MGR Devotee Yukesh Babu passed this information and to share this in our MGR Blog.

A song from Uzhaikum Karangal uploaded by pakee creation in youtube site. The upload is in high definition and the song is 40 MB in size.

 

The movie with political dialogues, deer horn fight and this particular song showing the ADMK flag is the highlight of Uzhaikum Karangal movie. A delight to watch for MGR Fans and MGR Devotees.

Kudieruntha Kovil Re-Release IV

Sri MGR Year 95, 24th March, Saturday

 

Saravana Screens Kudieruntha Kovil, super hit MGR movie of 1968 was re-released in Chennai Woodlands theater on 16th March 2012. Earlier we have updated with images with the celebration of MGR Devotees and MGR Fans.

 

MGR Devotee Sathya have captured some videos which comes to 23 minutes. I have cut the video into two parts with 15 minutes and 8 minutes for easy viewing.

 

The first part of the video starts from the gathering of MGR Fans in front of the theater showing the banners and cutouts placed by various MGR Fans organization. Busting of crackers and Abishekam to the end of the video.

 

 

 

Second part of the video continues with abishekam and passage to the theater and interviews taken by TV channels.

 

 

I have to thank Sathya for forwarding the video so nicely captured with an appropriate ending of MGR sitting calmly watching his fans.

The Dinamalar daily has published about MGR movie Kudieruntha Kovil and as well the restoration, Dts of Nadigar Thilagam movie Karnan  yesterday.

 

MGR Devotee Tirupur Ravichandran informed me about this news and asked to publish it as a post in our MGR Blog.

 

The War is not over the article says that still Makkal Thilagam and Nadigar Thilagam fans are contesting the battle.

 

 

 

Dinamalar has written the unbiased article, and also mentions that most MGR fans who have conducted the celebration were not ADMK Party officials they were only MGR Devotees.

Saravana Screens Kudieruntha Kovil is re-released in Woodlands theater Chennai on 16th March 2012.

 

 

The movie was first released on 15th March 1968 and was the block buster movie of 1968 surpassing the collection of MGR’s 100th movie Olivilakku.

Thaiku Pin Tharam Re-Release II

Sri MGR Year 95, 18th March, Sunday

 

Thaiku Pin Tharam was re-released last week in Mahalakshmi Theater. We have already published the first part, this post  will be about the acting talent that our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR have given in this movie.

 

 

Still many point out that MGR is not a good actor. (Because MGR always closes his face during crying scene) Here in this video captured in theater shows MGR’s performance, for those who mention that MGR is not an actor he cannot perform such feats.

 

Here in the above video MGR’s father was killed by a bull and MGR cries and finally vows to avenge his father’s death. Also watch how MGR fans enjoy this scene.

 

When you replay this video you can also see that how carefully MGR performs this act, and he actually falls over the burning pyre before that he adjusts his hair so that it wont catch fire. Two cameras are used in this breathtaking scene.
