Sri MGR Year 96, 14th July, Sunday

Gemini’s first colour movie and our Thalaivar’s 100th movie Olivilakku is re-released in Mahalakshmi theater this week.

 

 

Earlier this movie was re-released in two theaters in Chennai on 28th September 2012, in Mahalakshmi and Anna theater, Mahalakshmi had a three weeks run.

 

Not even one year has passed Olivilakku is re-released in the same theater. On my way to clients work I had to pass through Mahalakshmi theater and took some images (no videos) as the time was 5.15 PM.

 

 

 

Already MGR fans has started to show their devotion by garlanding MGR banners. Above are some of the images.

Re Release Netru Indru Nalai

Sri MGR Year 95, 28th August, Tuesday

MGR dual action movie Netru Indru Nalai was released previous week in Mahalakshmi theater. The same movie was re-released a year back.

 

The print is worst, and MGR Devotee Sathya had captured images to share in our MGR Blog.

 

 

In this movie our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR did a different role. And the songs are the plus points of the movie. The above images are from the song Inoru Vanam.

 

 

The above images are from the song Nee yenna sonnallum.

 

It is easier to capture a video but capturing image is difficult we have to sacrifice watching the movie. We thank Sathya for his work.

Re Release Enga Veetu Pillai II

Sri MGR Year 95, 24th August, Friday

MGR dual action movie and super hit movie of 1965 Enga Veetu Pillai was re-released two weeks back in Mahalakshmi theater. We have already uploaded some of the images.

 

  

 

MGR Devotee Sathya had captured some images and videos to share in our MGR Blog. Since the print is not good he has captured many images instead of video. The video is very grainy and we have to re work for better viewing.

 

Below are some of the images from Enga Veetu Pillai movie screened in Mahalakshmi theater, these images were captured on Sunday evening show. The collection of the movie was Rs.84,000.

 

 

 

Below images were captured during the duet song Nan Manthopil. MGR Fans and Devotees were lighting camphor for the philosophical and prophetic song Nan Aanai Ittal.

Re Release Ninaithathai Mudipavan V

Sri MGR Year 95, 6th July, Friday

MGR double action movie Ninathathai Mudipavan was re-released two weeks back in Mahalakshmi Theater. Below is the video clip of two MGR characters, Sundaram and Ranjith. See how people enjoyed MGR’s Ranjith character performance.

Re Release Ninaithathai Mudipavan III

Sri MGR Year 95, 23rd June, Saturday

 

MGR movie Ninaithathai Mudipavan was re-released previous week in Mahalakshmi theater. The video below was captured by me for the Friday matinee show.

 

The video clip is the meeting of two MGR characters Sundaram and Ranjith. All the persons will be in different costumes and Sundaram is mistaken as Ranjith. And when real Ranjith comes up for the function he has another plan.

 

The character Ranjith is a diamond smuggler he uses his look like Sundaram against Police. Here in the video clip, look how Ranjith character played by MGR, dominates Sundaram right from the start through his body language, dialogues and camera angle. People enjoyed the dashing entry performance of MGR as Ranjith, unique to drama introduction.

 

After this movie release many MGR Fans christened their new born male child as Ranjith.

Re-Release Ninaithathai Mudipavan II

Sri MGR Year 95, 19th June, Tuesday

MGR dual action movie Ninaithathai Mudipavan was re-released this week in Mahalakshmi theater. The video embed here is from the Friday matinee show that I have captured.

 

The below video is the song scene “Poomazhai Thuvi” smaller version.

 

 

The Sunday evening show was housefull, the images and videos captured by MGR Devotee Sathya will be uploaded soon. The collection till Sunday night show is Rs.40000 plus. Some one asking for proof for housefull show and collection contact the Otteri Nadigar Thilagam fans who will tell you the same, that will be more authentic.

Re – Release Alibaba Part I

Sri MGR Year 95, 7th June, Thursday

Modern Theaters first colour movie Alibabavum Narpathu Thirudargalum was re released in Mahalakshmi theater this week. For the first time the movie was released on 14.1.1956 all over South.

 

 

As usually MGR Devotee Sathya forwarded the images and videos to share in our MGR Blog.

 

After Kalangarai Vilakkam, continuously another MGR movie Alibabavum Narpathu Thirudargalum was released in Mahalakshmi theater, the banners which were fixed by various MGR Fans Association for Kalangarai Vilakkam was not removed and new banners were added this week.

Re-Release Raman Thediya Seethai V

Re-Release Raman Thediya Seethai IV

We have already published three parts of Raman Thediya Seethai re-release in Mahalakshmi theater. Below are the images forwarded by MGR Devotee Sathya to share in our MGR Blog.

 

The previous three posts with images and videos were captured during the first day first show release of Raman Thediya Seethai. These images are taken yesterday by MGR Devotee Sathya.

 

 

MGR Devotees have placed many banners and garlanded MGR image and busted crackers. MGR Devotees distributed food during the evening show.

 

 

Above images shows the number of garlands over MGR Banners and two satellite channels Mega TV and Tamilan TV recorded the crowd and took interview among MGR Fans and MGR Devotees.

Re-Release Raman Thediya Seethai III

Sri MGR Year 95, 30th April, Monday

MGR movie Raman Thediya Seethai was re-released in Mahalakshmi Theater this week. And we have already posted about the movie in our MGR Blog.

 

Here is the video clip from the movie, the concept of the movie, followed by the duet song. The video was re-worked with brightness for normal viewing and animation for enjoyment.

Re-Release Raman Thediya Seethai II

MGR movie Raman Thediya Seethai was re-released this week in Mahalakshmi Theater. I have uploaded two video clips with animation, one video clip without any enhancement i.e. any brightness or contrast second clip was enhanced for normal viewing.

Re-Release Raman Thediya Seethai

Sri MGR Year 95, 28th April, Saturday

Jayanthi Films Raman Thediya Seethai was re-released in Mahalakshmi Theater yesterday. I had the opportunity to watch the matinee show.

 

 

The image was taken during the interval.

 

The movie was Eastman colour but it was pinkish and the second projector was not good at projecting it appeared as though we were seeing the movie through a frosted glass, everything looked blurred. When we are going to see a good print of our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR.

 

Another MGR movie Asai Mugam was released in Broadway this week.

Re-Release Periya Idathu Penn

Sri MGR Year 95, 12th April, Thursday

 

MGR starrer black & white movie Periya Idathu Penn was re-released this week in Mahalakshmi theater. MGR devotee Sathya has captured some of the images and videos to share in our MGR blog.

 

 

As usual MGR devotees performed the pooja and the above image shows their devotion.

Re-release Netru Indru Nalai

Sri MGR Year 93, 16th April Friday

 

Amalraj movies Netru Indru Nalai was released in Mahalakshmi Theater today. Before the movie was released a few days back when the poster was fixed in Mahalakshmi theater the following MGR Devotees D.Kumar, M.Santhakumar, Sellapandi, G.Raja, M.Sathya, S.Velu and Manivannan garlanded the poster.

 

The Pandal in front of the theater were fixed by D.Kumar, M.Santhakumar, Sellapandi, G.Raja, Manivannan, S.Velu, Murali, Ekattuthangal Raghu, A.Siva.

 

 

Various MGR Fan mandrams affixed their vinyl banner some was added after matinee show also. MGR Devotees from Kalaiventhan MGR Bakthargal Trust, Kalaiventhan MGR Bakthargal, Saidai Paguthi MGR Bakthargal, Makkal Thilagam MGR Pothunala Mandram banners were present before the show.

 

 

Sri MGR Bakthargal garlanded MGR cut out at 8 am. Some of the MGR Devotees placed Drinking water and provided Butter Milk to the people who came to see the movie. This arrangement was done by G.Raja, P.Sellapandi, D.Kumar, S.Velu and M.Sathya.

 

 

These computer generated MGR was done by MGR Devotee Tambaram Murali the eye catcher was Arasakattalai MGR riding a White horse.

Re-release Dharmam Thalai Kakum Part II

Sri MGR Year 93, 14th March Sunday

MGR Devotees and MGR Fans and public were standing before Mahalakshmi theater for watching the 6 pm show old black and white movie Devar Films Dharmam Thalai Kakum. Which was re-released this Friday with much fan fare.

The capacity is around 1000 and the show was houseful. I was able to take some images and videos for our blog.

Re-release Dharmam Thalai Kakum

Sri MGR Year 93, 12th March Friday

Devar films Dharmam Thalaikakum movie is released today in Mahalakshmi theater after a long gap. The distributor have placed ads two weeks before, this is the  4th time they have placed ad in Daily Thanthi Chennai Edition.

How much money the film should generate if they have to place colour ad in a Leading daily for two weeks calculate yourself.

Below is the ad placed today, which movie ad is bigger new movie ads or MGR black white movie ad?

Old black and white movie should generate enough money to pay the rent of the theater, the ad charges, poster charges etc. and also give profit to the distributor.

Theater rent for one week is Rs.50,000/- this time it was fixed as Rs.45,000/-  Advertisement charges for two weeks minimum Rs.3000/- for 3 times it comes to Rs.9000 and todays ad is bigger than other ads how much it will be?

Re-release Kavalkaran

Sri MGR Year 93, 7th February Sunday

Sathya Movies Kavalkaran was re-released in Mahalakshmi theatre this Friday. Kalaiventhan MGR Bakthargal Trust has garlanded all the MGR images in the Banner.

There was clash between MGR Devotees and Police during garlanding the Banner. 

  

Crackers were busted and the traffic was halted for 5 minutes.

A MGR Devotee came with his Rickshaw to watch the movie he has given  place for our Leader MGR in the middle of Two Gods. See for yourself.

Re-release Ninaithathai Mudipavan

Sri MGR Year 92, December 28th Tuesday

Oriental Pictures Ninaithathai Mudipavan was released this Friday in Mahalakshmi Theater. The theater was almost full by 6.45 pm.

Kalaiventhan MGR Bakthargal garlanded all the MGR images. Crackers were busted and traffic was halted for 5 minutes.

Nearby Mahalakshmi is Saravana Theater, they also released MGR movie Adimai Penn. With help of MGR Devotee Yukesh Babu I was able to take some images after the movie have started. This is the fifth consecutive week of MGR movie release in Saravana.

Sri MGR Year 92 October 12th Monday

Adimai Penn is released this week in Krishnaveni and Mahalakshmi as 3 shows.



And also "Kudi Iruntha Kovil" will be released soon.

Update News:

I was not able to witness the happening in Mahalakshmi Theater. Today I went in the morning and took this photo to upload in our Blog.

The evening show was houseful, extra tickets were given to accommodate more people. The traffic was halted for 15 minutes, more number of women were in the theater. This same movie was released nearby theaters 2 months ago but still people filled the theaters.
