MGR’s 100th movie Olivilakku was re-released previous week in Broadway theater. Couple of weeks back the same movie was released in Mahalakshmi theater. The movie is being re-released in most of the theaters without much gap.
MGR devotees showed their devotion and on behalf of Ponmanachemmal Sri MGR Welfare Association sweets were distributed.

Gemini’s first colour movie and our Thalaivar’s 100th movie Olivilakku is re-released in Mahalakshmi theater this week.
Earlier this movie was re-released in two theaters in Chennai on 28th September 2012, in Mahalakshmi and Anna theater, Mahalakshmi had a three weeks run.
Not even one year has passed Olivilakku is re-released in the same theater. On my way to clients work I had to pass through Mahalakshmi theater and took some images (no videos) as the time was 5.15 PM.
Already MGR fans has started to show their devotion by garlanding MGR banners. Above are some of the images.

MGR Devotee Tirpur Ravichandran has forwarded some of the images relating to MGR movie re release in Coimbatore.
Southern movies Baghdad Thirudan was re-released previous week in Delite theater, the same movie was released in Royal theater couple of months back.
Festival time and for Deepawali festival our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR movie Olivilakku will be re-released in Delite on 13th November.
In Chennai Olivilakku made a 3 weeks run with worst print and blaring audio in Mahalakshmi theater. More news about Olivilakku in Coimbatore will be forwarded by Tirupur Ravichandran.
Sri MGR Year 95, 16th October, Tuesday
MGR’s 100th movie Olivilakku was re released three weeks back in Mahalakshmi theater. I have captured some video clips.
When MGR was made to drink alcohol, the frame when MGR sips, my heart skipped a beat. What this is MGR movie how there can be such a scene and this is MGR’s 100th one too, his image and everything came to my mind for that second, even though I am aware that this not a real, a movie scene I felt it is not right for MGR.
The scene follows by the song a philosophical song “Dhairiyamaga” people was ecstatic on seeing 5 MGR’s in one frame and trick shots without CGI of those days are worth mentioning.

After the song MGR gives his over coat to the old lady out of benevolence which you can understand from the claps of his fans. After he enters his house, Sowcar Janaki is panicked she trembles, and speaks with her eyes about how to survive from the situation. Lot of close up shots to Sowcar Janaki to show the fear, she is not sure that how MGR will behave to her. There is no close up for MGR to show his feelings (no exaggeration) a medium shot , comes near Sowcar Janaki and pulls the sheet to cover her fully some people clapped for this situation. Even though he is under influence of alcohol his character is not flawed.

MGR’s 100th movie Gemini Studios first colour movie Olivilakku reaches 3rd week in Mahalakshmi theater.

It is a great achievement for a re-released film (at regular intervals) makes record. Even the newly released movie finds it very difficult crossing 2nd week in these modernistic days between improved technologies and easier availability of DVDs.
Our beloved MGR can create such history in the Tamil Cine Field and thus proves once again that he is the only actor in the world who has repeated audience ever.

This video is the introduction of our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR in Olivilakku followed by a fight scene between MGR and R.S.Manohar. Though the print was not good the reason that I have uploaded is how people enjoyed watching the movie. The Evening show was housefull.

MGR’s 100th movie Olivilakku was re-released previous week in two theaters, one in Anna and another is Mahalakshmi. In Anna theater the movie was released as 4 shows. The Sunday evening show was housefull and we have already updated the post with the video.

Below is the video clips from MGR’s 100th movie Olivilakku. The video clip further goes into the introduction of other characters first the old women and other characters of Muthu’s (MGR) neighbours. Followed by Cho’s introduction.

When I was editing the video clip I found something odd about MGR and Cho conversation scene, it appeared to me as a single take when I watched again there was 3 shots but on closer observation they have used two cameras and the scene was one take with 3 shots combined.
The scene starts from 1.16, there was two cameras one on MGR side mounted on trolley and another on Cho side. When the scene starts the camera on MGR side, first camera,(position A) zooms in on two characters i.e. MGR and Cho, the second camera cuts in with close up of Cho and MGR and now the first camera (moved from the earlier position A to B) cuts in with zooming out, trolleys from MGR and Cho. Since both the actors are drama artist it is simple for them to execute this scene.

I have captured some video clips from the movie Olivilakku, which is running successfully in Mahalakshmi theater for the 2nd week.
This movie is MGR’s 100th movie. There are lot of one liners, one such is when MGR asks Sowcar Janaki to come with him, she hesitates and MGR says நான் கெட்டவன் தான் ஆனா கேவலமானவன் இல்லை. One line, this kind of one liners prevalent in MGR movies.

When I watched the movie I felt MGR was looking more handsome, more energetic than other movies.

Today is the 2nd week of Olivilakku in Mahalakshmi theater. The ad was given in Daily Thanthi Chennai Edition. Below is the image.

This will be a record for MGR, with this kind of print and blaring audio a movie reaching second week in 900+ capacity theater can only be achieved by our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR. Hats off to his fans for providing such a overwhelming support for the distributor and theater owner.
The movie has lot of cuts and the cuts are prevalent in song scenes. The videos will be uploaded soon.

MGR’s 100th movie Olivilakku is re-released in Anna and Mahalakshmi theater this week. We have already updated the news in our MGR Blog.

MGR’s 100th movie and Gemini Studios first colour movie Olivilakku is re-released after a very long time in Chennai. The movie is re-released in two theaters from 28th September, the cinema halls are, as 4 shows in Anna theater and 3 shows in Mahalakshmi theater.
Today Matinee and Evening show are houseful in Mahalakshmi theater, by 5.30 pm the Houseful board was kept.
Evening show in Anna theater was housefull the videos and images from Anna theater will be uploaded soon through MGR Devotee Sathya.

Gemini Studios and our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR’s 100th movie Olivilakku re-released in two centres today as 4 shows in Anna and 3 shows in Mahalakshmi. The print in Mahalakshmi theater is worst and in Anna theater not bad.
MGR Devotee Venkat has informed me that nearly 270 people watched the Matinee show in Anna theater and 550 plus in Mahalakshmi theater.
Sunday Evening show in Anna Theater is housefull.

MGR’s 100th movie Olivilakku which was re-released previous week as 4 shows in Coimbatore Royal theater created another milestone of reaching successive second week. The overall collection for the first week is Rs.1,20,000.
MGR Devotee Tirupur Ravichandran has informed me about the collection and the ad given in Maalai Malar Coimbatore Edition.

Special mention about this movie is the first song “Acham Enbathu” which MGR have mentioned in an interview that whenever he feels down he listens to this song.

In Coimbatore from yesterday onwards MGR’s 100th movie Olivilakku is being re-released in Royal Theater as 4 shows.
MGR Devotees Yukesh Babu and Tirupur Ravichandran has informed me about the movie re-release and the ad given in Maalai Malar.
This same movie has not been released for more than five years in Chennai.
