Sri MGR Year 96, 4th July, Thursday

ALS productions first venture with our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR is Chakravarthy Thirumagal. The movie was first released in 18th January 1957 all over South.

 

 

The first MGR movie for Director P.Neelakantan then he went on to direct 16 other movies with MGR as the lead.

 

The movie was a super hit and crossed 100 days in 8 theaters, Chitra and Sri Krishna in Chennai, New Cinema – Madurai, Gaiety – Trichy, Diamond – Coimbatore, Santhi – Salem, Radha – Virudhu Nagar, States – Bangalore. And one theater in Srilanka – Kinsley.

 

The movie is re-released tomorrow in Mahalakshmi theater. More of images and videos of re-release will follow soon.

Sri MGR Year 95, 1st August, Wednesday

Today 3 MGR movies were telecasted in three different channels, they are Jaya TV, Mega TV and KTV. In Jaya TV, 2 pm MGR & Jayalalitha starrer Ayirathil Oruvan was shown. The print was excellent.

In KTV, 1 pm, the movie was MGR, Latha starrer Urimaikural. The print had some lines.

In Mega TV, 2 pm, MGR, Anjalidevi starrer black and white movie Chakravarthi Thirumagal was shown. The print was fine but the image was not sharper.

This week 2 MGR movies were re-released in Chennai they are:

Panam Padaithavan in Broadway

Nan Yen Piranthen in Woodlands

Emgeeyar Pictures Adimai Penn movie was re-released yesterday in Tirupur M.G.B. Theater in Dts format. The ad image is from 13.4.2012 Coimbatore edition of Maalai malar.

 

 

After 25 years our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR black and white movie Chakravarthi Thirumagal is re-released in Coimbatore Royal theater. This ad image is from 12.4.2012 Maalai Malar Coimbatore edition.
