Re Release Ithayakani 2

Sri MGR Year 97, 14th December, Sunday

Sathya Movies Ithayakani was re-released previous week in Mahalakshmi theatre and we have uploaded images and one video relating to the reaction of MGR fans.

In this post we are uploading further scenes from the movie where our Puratchi Thalaivar MGR speaks about the coffee estate and followed by the villains planning to disgrace MGR name and fame.

The above images are not from Mahalakshmi theatre.

The dialogues of Isari Velan, Rathna and S.V.Subbaiah praising MGR is uploaded. The praising words is for Mohan character but the dialogues are direct hint to the real life of MGR.

Pardon for the poor video quality.

When MGR’s benevolence, respects to women and his title is said the people became ecstatic and MGR devotees showed their devotion watch for yourselves.

Re Release Ithayakani

Sri MGR Year 97, 9th December, Tuesday

The 1975 Blockbuster movie and Puratchi Thalaivar MGR starrer Ithayakani was re released in Mahalakshmi theatre this week.

The above image was taken on 7th December, time 5.50 pm. Thought this much people only came to watch.

The most famous pose of MGR, no need to mention the movie title the pose itself is enough.

A part of the crowd inside the theatre taken during the interval of the movie. The theatre had 75% occupancy even the movie was shown in Sun Life channel the previous day.

As usual the print is bad but the movie had 30 minutes long interval to compensate the cut of the movie. Most of the reel had MGR colour print (runs only in one colour that is pink).

Above video had to be enhanced for brightness and sharpness. For viewing pleasure the video resolution reduced to 352 x 288 pixel size as the original video looks very much blur.

DVSK

Sri MGR Year 97, 4th December, Thursday

DVSK – Daana Veera Suura Karna (Dana Veera Soora Karna) is the first production of Sree Ramakrishna Cine Studios, produced, directed and starred by NTR. And also this movie is one of NTR’s memorable movies which was released on January 1977.

 

Our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR clapped the first shot of this movie on 7.6.1976, as most of us know how close are these two legends. The bigger image given below is exclusively from NTR forum.

I watched this epic flick, nearly 4 hours (25 reels) because of our beloved God MGR.

As per the story NTR performed in three roles, Duryodhana, Karna and yes you guessed right, Sri Krishna. From the above image I thought it is easy to find out the scene from the movie but to my amazement the costume used by NTR is for Duryodhana and only during the climax NTR costume changes.

So were this scene comes? when we look closely at the clapper you can see the date, Muhurtham, night and P.B. that is playback in short form with this clue we can exclude the full talkie part and concentrate only on playback scenes (song scenes).

NTR’s intro as Duryodhana entering the durbar is song scene but the background set did not match,  after 40 minutes of footage another song comes up this one is duet song in that part the back ground matches accurately to the photo, so on that day our beloved God MGR clapped for the duet song “Chitram” below are some of the images from the song.

 

In the above images you can clearly see one statue in typical dancing pose and three rectangular openings in the structure of the gate set. Unfortunately NTR does not appear on that part of the set only the heroine appears.

Thadam Pathithavargal - 4

Sri MGR Year 97, 1st December, Monday

We had already uploaded episodes 1 to 6 of Thadam Pathithavargal a program telecasted in Vendhar TV, in our MGR blog. Below is the two episodes of the program.

 

Episode 7:

In this episode MGR movies released in 1965 to 1970 are shown and importance given movies such as Enga Veetu Pillai, Ayirathil Oruvan, Anbay Vaa, Kavalkaran and Petral Than Pillaiya?. They also narrated the shooting incident happened in 12th January 1967.

Below image to your left is used for showing the MGR and M.R.Radha shooting incident. To the right for the 1967 General election. They touched some part of the election campaign.

 

 

 

Above screen captures are from episode 7, the program exhibited some action scenes from Ayirathil Oruvan and the famous duet song from Anbay Vaa. They did not mention any thing about Emgeeyar Pictures Adimai Penn and Vijaya productions Nam Nadu both movies released in 1969. They also talked about the 1970 election.

Episode 8:

As expected they were in hurry to complete the story of MGR biography in episode 8. The timeline is 1970 to 1987. Many reasons are there to name one is much politics has to be dealt with.

They showed some video clippings from Engal Thangam, Rickshawkaran, Ulagam Sutrum Valiban, Urimaikural, Ithayakani and Maduraiyai Meeta Sundarapandian.

 

For visual representation of 1972 event they showed MGR resigning from the Chairman post scene from Nam Nadu. The program mentioned about the best actor award of 1971 that is Bharath award was given to our Puratchi Thalaivar MGR for the movie Rickshawkaran.

   

Some information about Ulagam Sutrum Valiban and Urimaikural movie record was given. They visualized the first ADMK victory in Dindukal from the movie Netru Indru Nalai. Video clippings from Sathya Movies Ithayakani was presented for our delight. The scenes include, the first song “Neenga Nalla Irukanum”, MGR disguised as M.G.Red.

 

Interestingly the program used Nalai Namathey scenes to show that our God MGR technically used film title for his political messages for the masses.

 

Rare videos of MGR giving speech to mass gathering appeared as a lighting. From 1975 they jumped to making of Maduraiyai Meeta Sundarapandian and the General election. And also shortly they showed some scenes of MGR recuperating in Brooklyn hospital in United States and then the election result.

Finally you know what they showed, as to the ending MGR’s body guard K.P.Ramakrishnan narrated the final hours of MGR with tears brimming in his eyes.
