Don’t Sleep brother don’t sleep (தூங்காதே தம்பி தூங்காதே) from the movie “Nadodi Mannan”, Young one listen to the tidings (சின்ன பயலே சின்ன பயலே செய்தி கேளடா) from “Arasilangkumari” and the most memorable line “நானே போடப்போறேன் சட்டம் பொதுவில் நன்மை புரிந்திடும் திட்டம் நாடு நலம் பெறும் திட்டம்” from “Nadodi Mannan”, (I am giving only three lines from MGR songs there are more to discuss) we all know that these brilliant, soul stirring lines are written by Pattukottai Kalyanasundaram for our Puratchi Thalaivar movies, after assuming the office of Chief Minister, MGR told the press that he did not know what the three legs in his chair belong to, but he is aware that the fourth leg belongs to the immortal lines rendered by Pattukottai Kalyanasundaram.

Pattukottai Kalyanasundaram died at very young age, MGR helped his family by giving royalty to his songs which appeared in his movie “Nadodi Mannan” and requested other movie producers to giving helping hand to Pattukottai Kalyanasundaram family. Golden Jubilee MGR Movies

Below are some MGR movies that have celebrated Golden jubilee i.e. 50 years of first release and which have been published as a special post in our MGR blog from 2008 to till date.

The first I wrote about the golden jubilee celebration movie is Emgeeyar Pictures Nadodi Mannan. The movie was released on 22.08.1958 all over South India and it became a super hit and also the highest grosser movie of 1958.

100th Post

Sri MGR Year 94, 5th September, Monday

 

This is the 100th post of the year 2011. The landmark was all possible by MGR Devotees and MGR Fans such as Yukesh Babu, Sathya, Sailesh Basu (UAE), Tirupur Ravichandran, Bangalore S.Vinod, Olikirathu Urimaikural Editor B.S.Raju, Venkat and others. For me alone it takes about 4 or 5 days for updating one post, the people above mentioned have helped me in updating our beloved Leader Purtachi Thalaivar MGR blog regularly, that is nearly one post every 2 or 3 days.

 

Thirudathe 50th year function was celebrated in German Hall, Chennai on 14th August 2011. And a special edition was released by Mrs.Saroja Devi.

Golden Jubilee Celebration IV

Sri MGR Year 94, 21st August, Sunday

 

MGR acted movies which were released in 1961 have completed 50 years and we (all MGR Fans, Olikirathu Urimaikural and ALS Productions) have celebrated the function in German Hall, Chennai on 14.8.2011.

 

The video clipping was presented to the VIPs and audience, the response was awesome.

 

   

 

When the clipping was showing the song “Thottal Poo Malarum” from Padagoti Mrs.Saroja Devi entered the Function hall as a coincidence.

 

 

The Bangalore flight was late and she came late to the function, Mrs.Saroja Devi was welcomed by Olikirathu Urimaikural members and on behalf of ALS productions Jayanthi Kannappan.

 

  

 

MGR Devotees and MGR Fans from Coimbatore, Tirupur, Madurai and Vellore presented shawl to their Sister-in-law.

 

  

 

Seen above were MGR Devotees and MGR Fans to name the few are Engineer Duraisamy (Coimbatore), Tirupur Ravichandran, Madurai Tamilnesan.

Golden Jubilee Celebration of Thirudathae movie was celebrated in German Hall Chennai on 14th August 2011. The news was flashed in major newspapers and evening papers.

Golden Jubilee Celebration - Thirudathae

Sri MGR Year 94, 12th August, Friday

 

MGR Devotees, MGR Fans and Olikirathu Urimaikural magazine is going to organize a function on the eve of Golden Jubilee Year of MGR starrer social movie Thirudathe. The celebration will happen in German Hall, T.Nagar, Chennai this Sunday (14.8.2011).

 

 

Mrs.Saroja Devi will be the Chief Guest of the function. Many MGR heroines and celebrities will attend the function.

 

 

All MGR Blog readers are requested to attend the function.

MGR Functions

Sri MGR Year 94, 29th July, Friday

 

MGR Devotees L.Kalaivanan and his wife Santhi Kalaivanan have been constructing a temple for our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR in Nathamedu, Chelliamman Salai, Thiruninravoor.

 

The temple construction and the Idol work has been completed. Kumbhabhishekam will be on August 15th Monday from 9.00 am to 10.30 am all MGR Devotees and MGR Fans are humbly asked to participate in the function and get the grace of our MGR.

 

 

Olikirathu Urimaikural and all MGR Fans have planned to celebrate the 50th year of Thirudathae. The function should have been conducted on March itself due to Election the function was postponed.

 

The Golden Jubilee function will be conducted on August 14th Sunday, German hall (Near South Indian Film Actors Association) T.Nagar, Chennai. The invitation is given below.

 

 

Artists who have worked in the movie Thirudathae will participate. Special Edition of Thirudathae book will be released and 30 minute video clipping will be screened for the audience.
