MGR Function – 2

Sri MGR Year 97, 22nd November, Saturday

Ponmanachemmal Sri MGR Welfare Association along with Aanaithulaga MGR Pothunala Sangam, Makkal Thilagam MGR Mandram and Ayirathil Oruvan Iraivan MGR Bakthargal celebrated 190th day of Ayirathil Oruvan and also the Golden jubilee of MGR movies released in 1964 in Chennai Press club on 16.11.2014.

We have already uploaded some images of the function continuing to that post we are now uploading the speech given by Poovai Sengkuttuvan about our Puratchi Thalaivar MGR.

He remembered how meticulously MGR looks into the dialogues and lyrics. Poovai Sengkuttuvan had written only one song for our MGR and that song is “Naan unga veetu pillai” from Puthiya Bhoomi. He also told that MGR had great memory power. The title “Sumai Thangi” was given by him to one of MGR’s drama. Earlier he had sent one drama script for which MGR acknowledged with his own handwriting and when Poovai Sengkuttuvan wrote that he want to meet MGR, he replied that he will come to his place and meet him which he did when he came for staging a drama in his native place.

MGR Jayanthi

Sri MGR Year 97, 23rd January, Thursday

Every year MGR Devotee Sathya celebrates our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR’s birthday in grand manner by providing free food and note books to the students. This year it is the consecutive 16th year of celebration. Below are some of the images forwarded by MGR Devotee Sathya to share in our MGR Blog.

The function was held at Narayana Maistry Street, Chennai on 19th January, 2014.

With other MGR devotees and fans MGR’s Grandson MGCB Pradeep also participated in the function. They performed pooja by lighting the camphor.

Annadanam was given to the people and also note books were distributed to the students.

MGR Function 97

Sri MGR Year 96, 8th January, Wednesday

Ponmanachemmal Sri MGR Welfare Association along with Olikirathu Urimaikural magazine will be conducting MGR’s 97th birthday celebration in Chennai on 9.2.2014, Sir P.T.Thiyagaraya Hall, T.Nagar from 10 AM to 10 PM.

Patti Mandram will be conducted at 4 PM followed by the release of Ma Manithar MGR, book published by Olikirathu Urimaikural. During the function Puratchi Thalaivar MGR video clippings will be projected and the video work is done by Olikirathu Urimaikural Publisher Thangavel.

Formation and appointment of members will be done for the centenary celebration of our beloved Leader MGR. All MGR fans are welcome.

Malaysia Function 2013 Part 4

Sri MGR Year 96, 29th December, Sunday

MGR 96 function was conducted in Kuala Lumpur, Sentul convention center on 7.4.2013. MGR’s bodyguard K.P.Ramakrishnan was felicitated for his 30 years service with our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR.

His son Govindaraj has forwarded this exclusive video to share in our MGR Blog. Below is the video clip of K.P.Ramakrishnan giving a speech and honoured by YB Tan Sri Koh Tun Khoon (Minister in the Prime Minister Department).

Function For Epic Films III

Sri MGR Year 96, 23rd September, Monday

Continuation of Part II.

Emgeeyar Pictures 3 epic movies Nadodi Mannan, Adimai Penn and Ulagam Sutrum Vaaliban anniversary was celebrated on 22.9.2013 in Chennai the function was carried out by Olikirathu Urimaikural MGR magazine with Aanaithulaga Makkal Thilagam MGR Pothunala Sangam.

 

Tea and snacks were provided to MGR Devotees and Fans after tea break, Olikirathu Urimaikural Publisher Thangavel presented the epic films video clippings.

Emgeeyar Pictures Three movies Nadodi Mannan, Adimai Penn and Ulagam Sutrum Vaaliban (three epic films) anniversary was celebrated on 22.9.2013 in Chennai Press Club, Chennai. The function was arranged by Olikirathu Urimaikural MGR Magazine and Aanaithu Ulaga MGR Pothu Nala Sangam.

Function For Epic Films

Sri MGR Year 96, 13th September, Friday

Emgeeyar Pictures three movies Nadodi Mannan (1958), Adimai Penn (1969) and Ulagam Sutrum Vaaliban (1973) reached a milestone. Olikirathu Urimaikural MGR magazine and MGR fans association (Aanaithu Ulaga MGR Pothu Nala Sangam) had planned to celebrate the 55th year of Nadodi Mannan, 45th year of Adimai Penn and 40th year of Ulagam Sutrum Vaaliban, in Chennai on 22nd September, 2013 near Chennai Press club.

 

 

All are welcome. The function is from 4 pm onwards. A special edition book regarding the release and informations of Nadodi Mannan, Adimai Penn and Ulagam Sutrum Vaaliban will be released. Along with the book release photo exhibition of these three epic movies and clipping will be shown.

Muperum Vizha 4

Sri MGR Year 96, 23rd June, Sunday

MGR fans and Olikirathu Urimaikural had celebrated MGR Muperum Vizha in Chennai previous week. Below are the images forwarded by Olikirathu Urimaikural editor B.S.Raju.

 

 

 

The programme started with MGR songs performed by Jeeva Raja Sruthi with mostly MGR philosophical songs.

 

Above is the chief guest who graced the function, Dr.H.V.Hande, former Health Minister in MGR regime, Mallaisamy, Veteran Actor V.S.Raghavan.

 

 

Gemini Ganesan daughters Dr.Kamala Selvaraj and Vijaya Samundeswari gave a small speech about the benevolence of MGR his helping hand to their family.

A special 30 minutes video clip was done for the function by MGR’s grand son MGCB Pradeep. The above images shows the response of people for that particular video of MGR.

 

 

Thiraiulaga Chakravarthi MGR book was released by Dr.H.V.Hande in the function. The book has 236 pages of black and white and colour images many are rare pictures.

 

The chief guests were honoured. And they also narrated their experience with our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR.

Olikirathu Urimaikural and MGR Fans association had celebrated MGR Muperum Vizha in T.Nagar Chennai on 16th June 2013.

MGR Muperum Vizha 2

Sri MGR Year 96, 16th June, Sunday

Olikirathu Urimaikural and MGR fans association celebrated MGR Muperum Vizha today. The function is conducted in Sir P.T.Thiyagaraya Hall, T.Nagar, Chennai.

 

Earlier the function with the participation of MGR fans from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka (Bangalore) convention was held today morning in Teynampet. I attended the function and took some images and videos.

MGR Muperum Vizha

All MGR fans association and Olikirathu Urimaikural celebrates MGR Muperum Vizha on 16th June 2013.

The function will be conducted in Sir P.T.Thiyagaraya Hall, T.Nagar, Chennai. The timing is from 4 pm to 9.30 pm. This is the seventh function to be celebrated by Olikirathu Urimaikural.

 

 

The function is conducted on behalf of completion of 50th year of 1963 movies release, MGR 96th birth anniversary and the release of MGR Album with regular MGR photo exhibition.

 

MGR songs will be conducted by Raj TV Fame Rajageetham Jeevaraja. Followed by participation of celebrities and giving away MGR awards. All are welcome.

The organiser of the MGR cultural show, was no other than Thamothran (Thalivar for the MGR Narpani Illam M'sia ) The reopening of the show was by YB Tan Sri Koh Tun Khoon (Minister in the Prime Minister Dept ) special priority was given to 'Dato Durai Raj , very close friend to the minister ! Special guest from Tamilnadu :

Malaysian Performers for the show, MGR Hari , MGR Laxmanan, Malaysian Sataya raj and local singers ! Mr Thamothran revealed that his hard work , distributing leaflets and kept existing Mgr fans' informed through text messages and phone calls ! As a result as many as 2,500 mgr lovers & visitors turned up for the one day event ! The show was super ! It gives me great joy to see K P Ramakrishnan for the first time , also 'Namakal Mgr ! I had warm hugs with this two VIP's ! Really a rewarding experience ! Mr K P Ramakrishnan's message about our Thalaivar MGR was well crafted and wonderful to hear ! Something I have not heard before ! One word , to say I was completely overjoyed and impressed to learn & hear more about our Thalaivar MGR ! Show ended at 11.30 pm.

MGR Fest 95 VIII

Sri MGR Year 95, 12th August, Sunday

MGR’s Grandson MGCB Pradeep created a 40 minute video clip which was showed in the function and that video clip was the highlight. He had edited video clips from several MGR movies and kept in mind about the festive season and added Aadi Special and Ramzan special videos.

 

Below is the video clip from Madurai Veeran colour corrected by MGCB Pradeep. This is the first time in the world a MGR starrer black and white movie being coloured and made public. Let us extend our thanks to MGCB Pradeep for his commendable work.

MGR Fest 95 VII

Sri MGR Year 95, 11th August, Saturday

MGR Fest 95 was celebrated in Raja Annamalai Mandram on 5.8.2012 in Chennai. The function was presided by Actress Kanchana, she had acted with our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR in Parakum Pavai and Nan Yen Piranthen.

 

Actress Rajashri, CID Sakunthala, S.N.Parvathi, Lakshmi (Thirudathae movie child artist) and Dance Master Tara attended the function. The credit goes to ALS Productions Jayanthi Kannappan and Major Dasan.

 

Below is the video of Actress Kanchana remembering our beloved Leader. She speaks about the dance, acting and political talent of MGR. At the beginning she showed Two Leaves symbol.

 

 

She spoke for 6 minutes and I have given the full video of her speech with animation theme as Live coverage.
