MGR Fest 95 VII

Sri MGR Year 95, 11th August, Saturday

MGR Fest 95 was celebrated in Raja Annamalai Mandram on 5.8.2012 in Chennai. The function was presided by Actress Kanchana, she had acted with our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR in Parakum Pavai and Nan Yen Piranthen.

 

Actress Rajashri, CID Sakunthala, S.N.Parvathi, Lakshmi (Thirudathae movie child artist) and Dance Master Tara attended the function. The credit goes to ALS Productions Jayanthi Kannappan and Major Dasan.

 

Below is the video of Actress Kanchana remembering our beloved Leader. She speaks about the dance, acting and political talent of MGR. At the beginning she showed Two Leaves symbol.

 

 

She spoke for 6 minutes and I have given the full video of her speech with animation theme as Live coverage.

MGR Fest 95 V

Sri MGR Year 95, 8th August, Wednesday

MGR festival was held in Chennai on 5th August 2012 in Raja Annamalai Mandram. Before the festival MGR fans meet was held in Royapettah. Most MGR Fans association attended the meet. We have already posted about the meet.

 

The Chief Guest who presided for MGR Fans meet was MGR’s bodyguard Ramakrishnan. He gave short speech about our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR. He spoke for 30 minutes, and I have captured only 11 minutes of his oration. Below is the video of Ramakrishnan’s discourse on MGR.

 

He had given an insight into the making of Thali Baghyam, the climax scene in Ayirathil Oruvan and Ninaithathai Mudipavan. He was the stunt double for  MGR and Nambiyar in Ayirathil Oruvan. He mentions that the swash buckling of MGR is unmatched in India and no one had the speed and fine execution. Ramakrishnan talked about the unique humane nature of MGR.

 

 

From the video, MGR’s grandson MGCB Pradeep helped Ramakrishnan to hold the mike, you can also see at the end of the video, nervous B.S.Raju gesturing MGCB Pradeep to conclude Ramakrishnan speech as the planned speech is about 10 minutes and the prize has to be distributed to MGR Fans and Devotees, it was 1.45 pm when Ramakrishnan started, he concluded is speech after 2.20 pm. And after his speech the prize distribution continued.

MGR Fest 95

Sri MGR Year 95, 11th July, Wednesday

MGR magazine Olikirathu Urimaikural, Anaithu Indiya MGR Pothunala Iyakkam and several other MGR Fans Association from Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Karnataka have combined to celebrate MGR’s 95th Birthday, MGR in Cinema 77th year and Golden Jubilee of MGR movies that are released in 1962, in Raja Annamalai Mandram, Chennai on August 5th 2012.

 

All MGR Fans are hereby requested to participate in the grand gala function to be conducted to our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR.

 

 

The function will be held in two places one in the morning 9 to 2 pm in Samuga Nala Koodam, Royapettah and other in the evening Raja Annamalai Mandram from 6 pm to 9.30 pm.

 

Exhibition of MGR Rare images, MGR songs and dance, video clippings of MGR scenes are included in the fest. Special edition of MGR books and DVD will be released on that day.

MGR Function in Raja Annamalai Mandram part I

Sri MGR Year 93, 22nd January Friday

After MGR Fans meet in Royapettah everybody moved to Raja Annamalai Mandram. By 7 pm the people went inside, before that they were busy buying MGR CD’s and Books which were on display put up by Thangavel who have painstakingly gathered MGR speech CDs and rare MGR films.
