Sri MGR Year 95, 8th August, Wednesday
MGR festival was held in Chennai on 5th August 2012 in Raja Annamalai Mandram. Before the festival MGR fans meet was held in Royapettah. Most MGR Fans association attended the meet. We have already posted about the meet.
The Chief Guest who presided for MGR Fans meet was MGR’s bodyguard Ramakrishnan. He gave short speech about our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR. He spoke for 30 minutes, and I have captured only 11 minutes of his oration. Below is the video of Ramakrishnan’s discourse on MGR.
He had given an insight into the making of Thali Baghyam, the climax scene in Ayirathil Oruvan and Ninaithathai Mudipavan. He was the stunt double for MGR and Nambiyar in Ayirathil Oruvan. He mentions that the swash buckling of MGR is unmatched in India and no one had the speed and fine execution. Ramakrishnan talked about the unique humane nature of MGR.
From the video, MGR’s grandson MGCB Pradeep helped Ramakrishnan to hold the mike, you can also see at the end of the video, nervous B.S.Raju gesturing MGCB Pradeep to conclude Ramakrishnan speech as the planned speech is about 10 minutes and the prize has to be distributed to MGR Fans and Devotees, it was 1.45 pm when Ramakrishnan started, he concluded is speech after 2.20 pm. And after his speech the prize distribution continued.
