Ponmanachemmal Sri MGR Welfare Association regularly organizes Annadanam from December 1st 2013. This time it is their 24th successive week.

Yesterday Actor Sathyaraj with his family came to watch Ayirathil Oruvan restored version in Sathyam Studio 5. The members of Ponmanachemmal Sri MGR Welfare Association welcomed him.

MGR Muperum Vizha

Sri MGR Year 96, 2nd June, Sunday

All MGR fans association and Olikirathu Urimaikural celebrates MGR Muperum Vizha on 16th June 2013.

The function will be conducted in Sir P.T.Thiyagaraya Hall, T.Nagar, Chennai. The timing is from 4 pm to 9.30 pm. This is the seventh function to be celebrated by Olikirathu Urimaikural.

 

 

The function is conducted on behalf of completion of 50th year of 1963 movies release, MGR 96th birth anniversary and the release of MGR Album with regular MGR photo exhibition.

 

MGR songs will be conducted by Raj TV Fame Rajageetham Jeevaraja. Followed by participation of celebrities and giving away MGR awards. All are welcome.

Tirupur MGR Fans

Sri MGR Year 94, 9th August, Tuesday

 

Actress M.N.Rajam (who have acted with MGR as pair - Manohari in Nadodi Mannan, second heroine in Thirudathae and as character artist in many movies) her husband, Playback Singer A.L.Raghavan, recently been felicitated, the function was held on 7.8.2011. MGR Devotee Tirupur Ravichandran, Thirumuruganpoondi M.Karthikeyan welcomed the couple on behalf of Makkal Thilagam MGR Manitheyneya Maamandram Tirupur.

MGR Devotees Celebration

 Sri MGR Year  93, 30th January Saturday

 Every year Ponmanachemmal Sri MGR Bakthargal celebrates MGR birthday function in grand manner by distributing Books, pencils, pens and Annadanam to poor children around Otteri and Purasawalkam area.

MGR Devotee Sathya does this function every year, not only this MGR fan Association other MGR Fans Association joins this celebration.

Like MGR like MGR Fans

The Golden Jubilee Function is nearing, only 17 days left. We were busy contacting people for the function.

MGR Fan (MGR Devotee) Mr.Sailesh Basu who is working in UAE often comments in our blog and the 7th person to join our MGR community. He was the first person to respond when we announced The Golden Jubilee Celebration done by MGR Fans. (This will make an individual post).

MGR FANS CLUB

MGR fans club have been from 1950. The growth of MGR Fans club did not end when MGR became Chief Minister still MGR Fans club are conducting functions all over Tamil Nadu.

Makkal Thilagam MGR Pothunala Mandram Trichy District – MGR Fans meeting veteran actor and the then Minister in MGR Cabinet Trichi Soundarrajan.

Some of the present day Fans Club of MGR are Kalaiventhan MGR Bakthargal (from 1982) Makkal Thilagam MGR Pothunala Mandram (Chennai, Nellai, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Trichy, Madurai etc.) MGR Baktha Pasarai and Ponmanachemmal Sri MGR Bakthargal.

These are self funded organizations aimed to promote and carry on the works done by MGR.

These organizations not only participate in garlanding and distributing sweets during MGR movies re-release but also perform Annadanam, help the poor children by distributing Books, pens and donating for medical help.

All the members of MGR Organizations age group is from 35 to 45. But most of the members are around 25 and some are not born when MGR was alive. Most of the young blood have not seen MGR in person.

The above MGR cut out is placed in a Bangalore theatre in 1990 during the release of MGR movie “Avasara Police 100” formerly “Anna Nee En Deivam”.

This is for the re-release of MGR movie “Kudieruntha Kovil” in May 1986. Watch how tall is the cut out and the size of the garland.
