Thirudathae a social oriented and Box Office success movie was released in 23.3.1961. Other than Thirudathae, movies such as Nallavan Vazhvan, Thai Sollai Thattathe, Sabash Maapillai and Arasilangkumari were released in the year 1961. This year all these movies were celebrating 50th Year i.e. Golden Jubilee year 1961 – 2011.
The function was conducted by Olikirathu Urimaikural Magazine, ALS Productions and all MGR Fans on 14.8.2011, German Hall, Chennai from 10 am to 2 pm. The Chief Guest for the Function is Mrs.Saroja Devi who have acted with our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR in 26 movies starting from MGR directed Nadodi Mannan to M.G.Chakrapani directed Arasakattalai.
