Sri MGR Year 98, 19th July, Sunday
After MGR was ousted from DMK in 1972, the party high command and as well as the circle level speakers tried their best to make believe that MGR did not have love towards the Tamil language. They emphasized that MGR was singing duet with Jayalalaitha for the movie Ayirathil Oruvan when Anti Hindi agitation was on its peak.
We all know that the movie has only one duet “Naanamo” which was shot entirely in the studio. So how come a duet in Karwar? There is no such outdoor scenes shot for the movie. And all the MGR devotees and Fans know why our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR did not participated in the Anti Hindi agitation.
To the left Nagesh, MGR, K.P.Ramakrishnan and other stunt artist lying down is Puthur Natarajan
MGR’s bodyguard K.P.Ramakrishnan who acted as one of the rebels in Ayirathil Oruvan has mentioned the reason in the functions conducted by us. His son R.Govindaraj has forwarded an article that was published in Kumudham issue dated 6.11.2013, K.P.Ramakrishnan narrates the events that actually happened during the shooting of Ayirathil Oruvan in Karwar, how MGR tried to participate in the agitation and why he did not.
