KP Ramakrishnan - MGR Body Guard

 Sri MGR Year 104, 5th February, Friday

Myself and srimgr.com team expresses our sincere condolences to Mr. K.P.Ramakrishnan's family. MGR fans have lost one great soul, one of MGR's bodyguards, stunt double, and stunt director Mr.K.P.Ramakrishnan. 

I met him twice, the first time was 31st July 2015 and 2nd time 7th September 2019. The first time I spent nearly 3 hours but the second time it was over 4.5 hours. Mr.K.P.Ramakrishnan's simplicity was one that caught my attention, he was a very humble person.

MGR's Political Crusade

One of the cabinet ministers in Puratchi Thalaivar MGR's rule, the then Minister of Health and Welfare Department Dr.H.V.Hande has given an interview and that was published in Makkal Kural as two-part series. You can find the first part of the interview below.

அண்ணா திமுக நிறுவனரும் முன்னாள் முதல்வருமான எம்ஜிஆரின் அமைச்சரவையில் நல்வாழ்வுத்துறை அமைச்சராக பணியாற்றியவர் டாக்டர் எச்.வி.ஹண்டே.

1984ஆம் ஆண்டு எம்ஜிஆர் உடல்நிலை மோசமானபோது அவரது மருத்துவ சிகிச்சைக்கான ஏற்பாடுகளை முன்னின்று நடத்தியவர்களில் ஹண்டே முக்கியமானவர்.

1942 ஆகஸ்ட் 9 வெள்ளையனே வெளியேறு போராட்டகளத்தில் போலீசிடம் அடிவாங்கி நாட்டின் விடுதலை வேள்வியில் பங்கேற்ற பெருமைக்குரியவர் ஹண்டே. அப்போது அவருக்கு 15 வயது.

புரட்சித்தலைவர் எம்ஜிஆரின் நம்பிக்கைக்குரிய நபர்களில் ஹண்டே முதன்மையானவர்.

“மக்கள் குரல்” நாளிதழின் சிறப்பு செய்திக்காக எம்ஜிஆருடனான தனது அரசியல் பயணம் பற்றி உற்சாகத்துடன் ஹண்டே நம்மிடம் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டார்.

காலத்தை வென்றவன் - The Reborn King

Sri MGR Year 104, 17th January, Sunday

A fantastic documentary by Kumkumam Sundarrajan on the most turbulent period for MGR and MGR fans, October 1984 to Feb 1985. The documentary is nicely edited with clips of Apollo Hospital, prayers rendered by people from all walks of life, interviews given by Doctors who have treated MGR, and explanations given by Dr.Hande.
