Sarees To The Poor - II

Sri MGR Year 96, 19th December, Thursday

Free food and Saree was distributed to the poor on behalf of MGR Devotee Sailesh Basu and his brothers through Ponmanachemmal Sri MGR Welfare Association. The function took place in MGR memorial house in T.Nagar (Mambalam) on 15.12.2013.

 

 

Earlier all the members of the association gathered and MGR’s Grandson MGCB Pradeep did a pooja and garlanded the MGR statue in the memorial.

MGR’s Assistant Muthu

Sri MGR Year 94, 23rd August, Tuesday

 

Our beloved Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR’s personal Assistant and one who was in charge of MGR memorial in T.Nagar, Muthu died on 18.8.2011 in Thirubuvanam. He was survived by two sons and two daughters.

 

Muthu worked with MGR from mid 1960s to 1987. He has lot of informations about our Thalaivar and he has also written two books about him, in that he has narrated some important incidents about MGR.

 

 

He cared for MGR Fans who visits MGR memorial. He narrates some incidents to the visitors with smile. He was also the first person to show whenever there is any MGR function.

MGR Memorial House

MGR Devotees are giving free food and note books to School going Children on 20.01.2008 in Chennai. This is the notice placed by them.

MGR memorial house is situated at Arcot Road T.Nagar. This is the Entrance - MGR Memorial house. The wooden Door is nicely carved with exquisite design. The entrance big enough for a car to pass through.

MGR's Ambassador Car TMX 4777 adores in the middle of the Hall surrounded by Trophies, Shields, Gifts, painting and photos. A small T.V. is seen inside the car. Due to lot of usage the paint is worn out.



The First floor is housed with MGR exercise equipments and is day to day dress such a simple white shirt and a dhoti, his shoes, his slippers, razor, scissors etc. The other cloth is the dress he attired in receiving the Doctorate award.

Adjacent to this room is visitors room and near is the Main Office Room. Where MGR usually sits and hear the grievances. Bharath Award he received for acting in Rickshawkaran in 1971, his father Gopalan photo and his mentor Anna Durai. Big plastic Two leaves is also seen in the desktop of MGR, some files are also seen on the table. And the most coveted Fur Cap remains on the desktop.



MGR Office Room

MGR's Assistant Mr.MGR Muthu enacted how MGR when comes inside this room how he removes his Fur cap and place it upside down (not in the picture) I purchased some books written by MGR Muthu. I saw lot of kids with their parents visiting this place this shows how much they Love MGR. MGR is cherished forever in their lives.

Anecdote of a Pilgrim

Today I and my brother went to MGR Memorial House, to give the list of MGR related Website to Mr.MGR Muthu, but he was busy, I have to wait in the mean time, I went and looked around which showcased Gifts, Honours, Medals, Letters received by MGR in his Film and Political career. (Visiting Hours was 10 am to 5 pm)

I looked at his Watch with Steel Strap, how big it is, with some visible scratches, riveted edges. The most coveted award given to Indian Citizen the Bharat Ratna Award and Lion Raja. A family also came to view, when they came to the Photo section in the House, there was a photo of M.R.Radha, (who tried to kill MGR in 1967) there a man said, this is the ****** who shot MGR, if he didn’t done that to MGR, he might have lived another 10 years, ******** he ruined MGR's life. (**** are bad words)



I went in search of MGR photos in Royapettah. And came back by 5.30 pm, and I was allowed inside (special permission) to meet Mr.MGR Muthu and the Manager Mr.Shanmuga Sundaram. They greeted me, and I handed over the list and asked about the rare photos of MGR and he gave the address to me.

The sword and sceptre he used in the movie "Nadodi Mannan" and the Plaster with MGR's blood in it persist in my mind.
