MGR studied in Aanaiadi School, Kumbakonam, today the school is in bad shape, and the same was published recently in Kumudam Reporter. The article was published in our MGR Blog with help of MGR Devotee Tirupur Ravichandran.
A week back MGR’s Grandson MGCB Pradeep and Olikirathu Urimaikural Editor B.S.Raj visited the School and donated some money. MGCB Pradeep has published the article in his blog with photos.

Sri MGR Year 95, 7th February, Tuesday
When our beloved leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR was young he received formal education in Aanaiadi school in Kumbakonam. His education was stopped due to poverty in the family and was forced to take up acting in dramas, when he was 7 years old.
MGR Devotee Tirupur Ravichandran has forwarded the scanned copy of Kumudam Reporter Issue dated 9.2.2012 an article about the pathetic condition of Aanaiadi School today.
MGR had visited this School when he was the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The school came into service in 1910. MGR joined this school in 1922 and left the school in 1925 without completing fourth standard.
Due to management problem only 30 students are studying now. Of this MGR fans children studies in this school, the children father Late Ramalingam who hails from Kollumangudi from Thiruvaroor District came to Kumbakonam as his wish that his children should study were MGR studied.
