Plagiarism is the wrongful appropriation, stealing and publication of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions and the representation of them as one's own original work. (from Wikipedia)

Whenever I have to use somebody’s work like images, articles etc. in MGR blog I give their name or the appropriate web address. But our blog article are often stolen and published in other web portals. In 2008 I happened to see our srimgr.com images such as Adimai Penn was used by Indian Express website no credit was given to our website. Then I started to use the water mark over the images.

Next video works and audio works were copied and used by other people (for monetary purpose) in youtube as well, one such example is the BBC interview, MGR election speech and song from unreleased Puratchi Thalaivar MGR movie Velu Devan.

During March 2014 when the digital version of Ayirathil Oruvan was released, the editor of Urimaikural B.S.Raj expressed his wish that I have to write an elaborate article about Ayirathil Oruvan in Tamil, that time my leg was fractured and was bed ridden. With that pain I wrote the article without accepting any consideration. The 20 page article is the cover story of the magazine, and it was published in the Special Edition of Ayirathil Oruvan and released on 1st September 2014, in Kamaraj Arangam, Chennai. The editor has given me due credit by giving my name and as well as our MGR blog address. (Images above)

Couple of days before I happened to see the Ayirathil Oruvan analysis was copied and used by Dina Ethal authored by Chiranjeevi Anish article titled “Endrum Vazhgirar MGR” dt.10.3.2015. Below is the article published by them. No credit was given either to our MGR blog, srimgr.com or Urimaikural magazine.

MGR In Poland

Sri MGR Year 98, 11th March, Wednesday

Through social media I was introduced to Mr.Czarnotta of Poland, who also writes articles for Wikipedia in Polish language. His main article is about Indian Cinema. After formal introduction he forwarded some books written in Polish. The books are:

1. Nie tylko Bollywood

2. Konflikt I przemoc w systemie politycznym niepodległych Indii

3. Indie - nowa azjatycka potęga

   

He told that after reading these books he was fascinated by MGR and Indian Cinema. Mr.Czarnotta started to write articles in Polish language for Wikipedia.

Above is the scanned images from the book titled Nie tylko Bollywood. Published in Kraków in 2009; about MGR mentioned article "Przemoc, nacjonalizm, tańce i wzruszenia. Kollywood - tamilski przemysł filmowy by Małgorzata Straszewska"; MGR is mentioned on page 425, 429-430, 432-436, 442, 472.

He further said that our MGR blog is the main resource for his MGR Wikipedia writing. He is now doing Master Thesis on Political Influences of South Indian Actors and he had forwarded some of his thesis paper.

In Poland MGR is the short form for Magister that is Master. One of our MGR titles is Vathiyar (Master or Teacher). See the coincidence!

MGR Watch Seiko

Sri MGR Year 98, 7th March, Saturday

This is the continuation to the post of watches used by MGR, we have already posted couple of articles regarding the watch, this post is the most famous watch of MGR, Seiko 5 Speed-Timer.

  

In almost all posters or wall drawings we can see MGR with this watch. Predominantly used from 1971 to 1984. Our Puratchi Thalaivar MGR used this watch in one scene in Meenava Nanban movie.

Chief Minister MGR 1977

A little information about this watch, manufactured by Seiko, Japan, Seiko 5 Speed-Timer 7017-6020 Flyback chronograph, release date February 1971.First time date/day single window was included into the watch. The bracelet of MGR watch is custom designed.

King of Kings Return – 2

Sri MGR Year 98, 28th February, Saturday

We have already posted one video featuring our Puratchi Thalaivar MGR returning from the United States on February 5th 1985, due to overwhelming download of that rare video, one of MGR’s close aide Mr.S.A.Alagarsamy had thanked me and sent me one comment.

Many years before Mr.S.A.Alagarsamy invited me to his house, he showed one rare photo of MGR giving the election speech to Doordarshan and also some of his family photos with our beloved MGR. One such was the photo of his family with MGR taken on 5.2.1985. Which he had framed and kept it in his house. Mr.S.A.Alagarsamy had sent me his comments which I want to share with you all.

Below is his comment to the rare video.

My Dear Roopkumar,

I was waiting at Madras airport when our Thalaivar returned from USA since I played a small role from Apollo hospitals Chennai while he went for treatment. That same day evening I took my family to get blessings from our great Leader.

I was in customs then so I was so close to our Thalaivar in airport. That day was very strict even for big leaders to come inside airport but I went early and was seen by our Leader. He saw me and waved His hands to mark me.

How can I forget those moments...
