Devar Films Thai Sollai Thatathey was released on 7th November 1961. The movie was a stupendous success. Synopsis of the movie written by MGR Devotee Sailesh Basu.

Mohan (Ashokan) and Raju (MGR) are brothers separated at a very young age. Their father was killed by Parangkusam / Pandithurai [ M.R Radha].

The Elder brother gets separated from his mother because of his wrong activities. His younger brother (MGR) is a CID Officer. He meets his brother after years. Vijaya [Saroja Devi] is the daughter of M.R. Radha and MGR’s love interest.

Asokan and M R Radha are partners in all crime activities. When MGR’s mother comes to know that Vijaya is Parangkusam’s [M.R.Radha] daughter she objects to their marriage.

How the CID Officer exposes the culprits forms rest of the story.

The first scene of MGR arriving in an airport was highlight of the movie.

The disguise MGR used in the movie.

MGR does the CID role very well and with ease.

The movie has 7 songs they are:

Sri MGR Year 94, 1st November, Tuesday

We have been publishing various articles about our MGR in this blog with help of MGR Devotees and MGR Fans. One of MGR Devotee Tirupur Ravichandran gave an idea about publishing various musical instruments that MGR used and we have published that post already.

Tirupur Ravichandran gave an idea about various sunglasses MGR used in his movies. With the help of MGR Devotees around the world I have given this special post of MGR with sunglasses.

The image was forwarded by MGR Devotee T.Nagar Ramamurthy. In this photo MGR used Aviator sunglasses which was popular during 1950’s and 1960’s.

Most of social oriented MGR’s movies he has used sunglasses in various shapes and sizes. The biggest was in Ithayakani movie.
