Mega Release of Adimai Penn IV

Emgeeyar Picture Adimai Penn with DTS sound track was released in Tamilnadu two weeks back this week the movie was released in Motcham theater (4 shows).



The traffic was stopped for 10 minutes for the celebration of MGR Fans.



8 Type of Garlands were placed for MGR cut out by various MGR Fans Association.



I only saw people all around the theater.



Milk abhishekam was done already I came late, the garlands were soaked with milk and running over the pavement.

Mega Release of Adimai Penn III

This week Adimai Penn was released in Motcham theater having DTS.



Second week in Salem.

MGR movie Adimai Penn was also released in around Chennai, Pallavaram - Janatha, Kanchipuram Aruna, Thiruvallur - Krishna, Thirutani - Kamala, Thirukovilur - Balaji, Banrotti - Jayaram, Tindivanam - MRS, Kallkuruchi - Raja, Chenji - Selvi.

In Coimbatore Area - Sundarapuram - Palaniappa, Avinasi - Chintamani, Annanur - Ashtalakshmi.

Previous week Broadway and Lakshmi collection of the movie was unbelievable to theater owners. Within two days theater rent was reached.

I have to thank MGR Devotee Yukesh Babu who came with me and helped me in covering the 6.30 show, the first picture above was shot by 7 pm.

Mega Release of Adimai Penn II

Fourth time I am missing to cover MGR movies re-release this year.

Emgeeyar Pictures Adimai Penn was re-released in Chennai this week in Non AC theatres Broadway and Lakshmi.

I received calls from various MGR fans from Lakshmi and as well as from Broadway theatres. On the first day matinee show was full in Lakshmi and it continues till date.

The theater is crowded, above is the proof about the Collection of Adimai Penn from Non AC theaters in Summer time.

From Broadway:

MGR Devotee Yukesh Babu had informed me that the theater is full for the 6.30 show. There was lot of younger generation MGR Fans. The response from the crowd was awesome. Not only the theater got revenue but also the canteen and other people related to the theater received considerable revenue.

The previous week Vijayakanth new movie Mariyathai was released but only 150 people were present for the sunday show the theater capacity was 1250, the operator of the theater told this to the MGR Fans that whenever MGR movies are released they get more revenue than the newer movies.

"Thai Illalamal" song was repeated again on the request of MGR Fans.

The DTS Part:

Since this theater is not equipped with DTS the full effect was not known but it was noticeable in some parts of the scene. It is very well mixed this time than the earlier DTS version of Ulagam Sutrum Valiban.

To my knowledge Hollywood movies like Star Wars I, II and III were digitised and re-released and got extra collection. But no Indian movie got a facelift (except one Hindi movie which made in colour for re-release did not get that much hype and revenue) like Ulagam Sutrum Valiban and Adimai Penn which like a Hollywood movie spinning money to the new producers for their new ideas. The reason is that most of MGR acted movies are hard worked taking long time to hit the screen each and every scene was meticulosly shot and MGR looked into every department his hard work is still reckoned.

Even after 20 years we will be witnessing another digital format of MGR movies and they will stand over time.

Adimai Penn Song

This is the only duet song in the movie. Both MGR and Jayalalitha are in double role, MGR duet with the Queen character but not with the lover. An usual plot in MGR movies.

MGR unwillingness can be seen in last stanza. The Kings Bedroom look out the walls and furnishings how exquisite and delicate placing of white sun mica tile over the real floor added the richness for the song. And also note how big is the Kings Bedroom.




After viewing the song I got one question since this is a duet song and Jayalalitha is good dancer why she did not dance? she gives graceful hand movements and face expression. Can you tell me why?
