Sri MGR Year 95, 3rd February, Friday
Recently former Chief Minister of Kerala Achuthanandan had expressed his view that MGR is the person who had written letter recommending the Central Government to reduce the level of water storage in Mullai Periyar Dam in the year 1979 from 145 feet to 136 feet.
And this news was in the media quite some time that MGR was malayali and he favoured for Kerala. The actual happening was made public by the then Ministers in MGR’s cabinet Mr.Raja Mohamed (Minister of PWD), Mr.V.V.Saminathan (Minister of Power) and Mr.Aranganayagam (Education Minister)
They have explained in detail how meticulously MGR planned for Tamil Nadu’s water project. Bit by bit he explains the Mullai Periyar Issue during 1979 and 1980. He also quotes how Krishna water came to Tamil Nadu and how our beloved Leader MGR convinced the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N.T.Rama Rao.
This meet was made possible by Ithayakani Editor Vijayan.
