En Annan movie is released today in Coimbatore Delight as 3 shows.

 

 

And a new book named Nadodi Mannan written by Diwan is recently published by Najaath Publications (spelling may be wrong) this book can be purchased in this address Najaath Publications, 106 F/4A, Thiruvanathapuram Road, Palayamkottai – 627 002, Thirunelveli District.

23rd Anniversary

On behalf of MGR Fans and Devotees and Olikirathu Urimaikural Magazine, a small procession and floral tribute was conducted today in MGR’s resting place.

 

17 MGR Fans from Malaysia and from Bangalore MGR Fans also came to pay their tribute to our Beloved MGR. The images and videos will be uploaded by MGR’s Grandson MGCB Pradeep soon.

Sri MGR Year 93, 20th December, Monday

 

MGR debut movie Sathileelavathi was released on 28.3.1936, the movie was started in the year 1935. The movie which stared M.K.Radha, M.G.Chakrapani, MGR, N.S.Krishnan, T.S.Balaiah, many of the stars debut movie was Sathileelavathi. Directed by Ellis R.Duncan, the story was written by Gemini S.S.Vasan.

 

The story was already enacted as Drama and at first MGR was promised for a meaty role. In his biography “Nan Enn Piranthen” MGR has mentioned in a detailed manner how he got the chance to act in the movie. First he was selected to act as M.K.Radha’s friend, then it was changed to Villain, then to henchmen and lastly he was given the role as an Inspector named as Rangiah Naidu.

 

The first shot he acted was riding a bicycle, though under his Mother’s patronage and strictness MGR did not know how to ride a bicycle, when he was asked that he know to ride a cycle, he said yes without hesitation and he practiced cycling.

 

A clipping from the movie and MGR riding a cycle was telecasted in Doordarshan during early 1980s. So far young MGR Devotees and young MGR Fans did not have chance to see the movie.

MGR’s Magnum Opus movie “Adimai Penn” is re-released in Thirunelveli and 5 other centres this week, Below is the image taken from Daily thanthi Digital edition.

Sathyabama Passes away

M.G.Chakrapani's eldest Daughter Mrs.Sathyabama passed away yesterday in Bombay she was 75 years old. Our Leader  MGR has mentioned Mrs.Sathyabama in his Biography "Nan Enn Piranthan" May her soul rest in peace. For more information please click below.

MGR Shrines Part III

A temple for our beloved Leader MGR is to be constructed in Thirunindravur by MGR Devotee Kalaivanan. The Foundation stone was laid by many MGR Devotees on 28.10.2010 for the Arulmigu MGR Temple.

MGR Shrines Part II

Sri MGR Year 93, 30th October, Saturday

The Bhoomi Pooja for the construction of MGR Shrine in Nathamedu Village near Thiruninravoor, was celebrated in grand manner, earlier MGR Devotees and MGR Fans assembled before the Pooja time.

The Temple was dedicated to our Beloved Leader, Makkal Thilagam, Ponmanachemmal Sri MGR by his Devotee the Founder  Trustee L.Kalaivanan, who has formed a Public charitable Trust in the name of Arulmigu MGR Aalaiyam Arakattalai, registered in the file of Sub Registrar and the registered number is 538 of 2010. (See how the number has formed, add 5, 3 and 8 MGR’s Lucky number 7). The corner stone was laid before 7.30 am, the temple measures 1800 sq.ft.

The function was attended by MGR Devotees, Coimbatore Engineer Duraisamy, Vellore MR.Raamamoorthy, Anupandi Arumgam Madurai Tamilnesan, Khaleel Basha of Thiruvannamalai,  Kanchi Selvam and Magesh, Bangalore Ravi, Subramani, Chennai - MGR Murthy, Pandian, Chandran, Elangovan, Vimalraj, Rajkumar, Saidapet Sekar, Kumar, Iyath, Babu, Manivannan, B.S.Raju one of the Trustee of this Charitable Trust and Editor of Olikarathu Urimaikural MGR Magazine , MGR Grandson MGCB Pradeep, Poet Kasi Muthumanickam, Yukesh Babu, Sathya, Venkat, Ithayakani Magazine Editor Mr.Vijayan.

Food was arranged by the Trust and was distributed to more than 100 MGR Fans.

Nadodi Mannan Behind the scenes Part I

Nadodi Mannan one of MGR’s Magnum Opus movies and the first Emgeeyar Pictures production was in the anvil for 3 years. The movie was finally released on 22.8.1958.

 

 

I have already given a detailed view of the movie in our blog the link is given below the post for your reference. This post mainly based on the facts unknown to most MGR Devotees and Fans, MGCB Pradeep gave this idea to publish it in our blog. There are lot of images concerning the movie. M.G.Chakrapani’s Family members have preserved the images and information about Nadodi Mannan Movie. The below information were given by M.G.C.Chandran, Son of M.G.Chakrapani. The images were forwarded by M.G.C.Rajendran to MGCB Pradeep and MGCB Pradeep kindly forwarded to use it in our blog for MGR Fans.

 

 

Most of MGR Devotees and MGR Fans surely visited MGR Memorial in T.Nagar. In the First Floor of the Building a Lion carcass is kept for view with name of the Lion, that Lion is the one used in Nadodi Mannan. Actually there were two Lions trained by MGR and one Lion was very ferocious, so that the Lion was given to Zoo and the tamed animal acted with him in the movie Nadodi Mannan. But unfortunately the Lion died in half of the shooting, and MGR changed the climax of the movie to Bridge fight with P.S.Veerappa. This same plot was used in the climax of Adimai Penn by MGR, even though Adimai Penn was directed by K.Sankar.

 

 

There was a song between Nadodi MGR and Mannan MGR the voice was rendered by Tirchy Loganathan and T.M.S. The song was deleted due to the length of the movie.

The song is like Question and Answer between the King MGR and Wanderer MGR the song goes like this.

Our Beloved Leader MGR have been Idolized by MGR Devotee Nedumaran of Salem and some MGR Devotees like Kantha Srinivasan has kept the image of MGR in place of Worship and also MGR Devtoee Vijayakumar have erected MGR Shrine in G.K.M.Colony in 1990.

MGR Devotees L.Kalaivanan and K.Santhi have acquired land for the construction of MGR Temple in Thirunindravur Village which is near to Avadi. The Bhoomi Pooja will be conducted on 28.10.2010 from 6.30 to 7.30 am. 

All MGR Devotees and MGR Fans are requested to attend the function and get the Blessings of our beloved Leader.

Our Puratchi Thalaivar MGR philosophical songs were unique, the words are not only positive but prophetic also. There are numerous songs to list. MGR songs gives us uplift in life we do not have to view the song. It doesn't matter how depressed we are, just listening makes us energetic in an instant. We should have come across such situation in our life.

MGR’s Fifth Finger

Every Actor in the World have their respective Fan Magazine during their career, our Puratchi Thalaivar had and still has Fan Magazines not one but four in current circulation.

 

     

 

And now this September Kalaiventhan MGR Bakthargal Trust have published MGR Fan Magazine that is the MGR’s Fifth Finger. We wish them all success.

Platinum Jubilee XIII

Due to Rights issue “Kudumba Thalaivan” movie was not released this week. AGS cinemas multiplex theater in Chennai has been screening Adimai Penn this week. I have included some screen shots of online booking for the movie.

 

 

These two images are the screen captured and taken from the online booking of ags cinemas website. More than 60 seats were occupied through online booking for evening show. I was taken back that some MGR fans are using online nowadays for viewing their Thalaivar movie. The news was forwarded by MGR Devotee Yukesh Babu.

 

 

After the release of Special Edition, SSR made a small speech about our Puratchi Thalaivar and his son SSR Kannan gave a heart touching speech.

 

 

 

Mrs.Jayanthi Kannappan was one of the Chief Guest for this Platinum Jubilee, she gave away MGR Awards to various persons.

Old is Gold

Sri MGR Year 93, 14th September Tuesday

 

Our Leader MGR movies are always been in circulation or re-releasing every week even after MGR left Cinema in 1977 and became Chief Minister, his last movie was released in 1978. The record is unparallel. Recently not only colour movies, black and white movies were also released subsequently. Now Periya Idathu Penn is running successfully in Natraj theater (Non A/C) and coming week MGR’s hit movie “Kudumba Thalaivan” is going to re-released in A/C theater Woodlands.The movie was first released on 15.8.1962.

Platinum Jubilee XII

Nearly 1200 MGR Fans attended the Platinum Jubilee function. MGR Fans Association from all over Tamil Nadu, Pondichery, Karnataka, Malaysia and Singapore made their presence in Chennai on 29th August 2010 in Kamarajar Arangam.

Platinum Jubilee XI

Sri MGR Year 93, 4th September, Saturday

 

After the opening of Photo Exhibition, the Grand function of Platinum Jubilee of MGR in Cinema conducted by various MGR Fans Association from all over Tamil Nadu, Pondichery, Karnataka, Malaysia and Singapore in Kamarajar Arangam, Chennai on 29th August 2010, started at 3 pm with Dance program performed by Cini Abinayam and performers were MGR look like. They showed the perfect MGR mannerism in songs and dance style from various MGR songs such as Duet and and as well as Philosophical songs.

 

 

 

 

Book Exhibition hosted by Theni Rajadasan, various and rare books on MGR was kept neatly for public view. Another image from the Dance program for the song “Nan Aanai Ittal” performed by Kovai Siva and you can see MGR Devotee Sankar dancing to the tune in front of other MGR Fans.

The MGR look like dance images and Samuthaya nala koodam images were forwarded by Tirupur Ravichandran.

 

I was very much impressed by the performance of Kovai Siva for the song “Nan Aanai Ittal” and Kovai Elangovan with original hair style, for “Nalai Namathey” song. The hand movement and the leg movement were very perfect, the way in which MGR lifts the heroine and the way in which MGR enters the frame are very very perfect. I think they should have watched the songs 1000 times. The costumes were very near to MGR costumes.

 

 

 

The dance ended by 6 pm and a small break was given so that the Music troop shall arrange their instruments.

 

MGR Devotees all over Tamil Nadu always perform  poojas to their God Sri MGR in the Theaters what happen when all MGR Devotees from all over Tamil Nadu meet in one place? The images below is the answer to that question.

 

 

 

MGR Devotees Marmayogi Manohar from Madurai, Sathya from Chennai performed their regular worship to their God Sri MGR. First they poured Sandal and continued by pouring Milk over the God Image of MGR.
