For the Golden Jubilee year of Nadodi Mannan special post, I
took some points from the book titled “Yarukku Vetri” written by our beloved
Leader Puratchi Thalaivar MGR, a special edition released after the success of
Nadodi Mannan in the year 1958, in that book he has mentioned the persons
responsible for the success, the cooperation given by them, the name of the
persons including the artists, script writers to name of the persons who did not
show up in the title card. The post that was published on 21st August 2008 in
srimgr.com the article and as well as the video were inspired from that book.
MGR’s bodyguard K.P.Ramakrishnan who also worked in the Nadodi
Mannan movie had written the article with his son R.Govindaraj which was
published in Dinamalar issue dated 26th October 2011, Trichy edition. He has
forwarded that article to share with us through MGR blog.
In the article K.P.Ramakrishnan recollects that in the set of
Kalai Arasi MGR was speaking about three persons who gave their help for Nadodi
Mannan movie. The three people MGR lists is S.S.Vasan who granted movie camera
for shooting the climax scene involving large and miniature sets, K.Subramaniam,
the Director who helped our Thalaivar in supervising the movie and procuring
colour negatives without any benefit for him and also helping him in outdoor
shooting done in Munnar. Thirdly is the studio owner of Vijaya Vauhini, Nagi
Reddy for his assistance in shooting the movie.
