Four Feet Poster

In the First week 'Kalai Venthan MGR Bakthargal Peravai' Madurai brought out posters and welcomed MGR fans. The poster size is four feet which I managed to take a snap and scanned for upload. In the second week the poster was 2 feet which thanked the people, who came to see the movie 'Ulagam Sutrum Valiban'. The response of the film proves MGR "The Undisputed Box Office Emperor".

The terms used in Posters:
Puratchi Ma Mannar
No.1
MGR means Victory

Thanks for the posters and images sent by MGR Devotee S.Kumar, Madurai.

Picture Festival II

Historical Movies of MGR:

This movie is the first Tamil Colour film. Alibabavum Narpathu Thirudargalum was a huge successful film. The movie has only one song for MGR and that too a duet song, anybody noticed? This picture is dedicated to Tamilan.

I was looking at this picture without blinking my eyes. MGR was very beautiful in this costume. Second time he was wearing this Roman costume other than Sathya movies movie "Kavalkaran". To my knowledge the most expensive dress he used in "Adimai Penn".

Baghdad Thirudan the only movie that Actress Vaijayanthi Malai starred with MGR.

Kulabaghavali film is based on Trickery and Magic. But MGR cut short all the magical essence from the story. This is a Dharbar Scene.

Movie - Kanchi Thalaivan
A portrait feature of King (MGR) the chest ornamental decoration is different and cannot be seen in other historical moive. Can I say that this delicate difference in costumes used by MGR appeases and looks good only for him? This picture is dedicated to Tamilan

Hair Style

After 1958 or so MGR used different kinds of wigs to enhance the character he acted. The wigs he used looks as original hair. Look closely all the pictures except Alibabavum Narpathu Thirudargalum and Kulabaghavali (original hair) all the pictures here are with wig. Do you see any wrinklings in the forehead, which clearly indicates the use of wig. Only two actors from the Golden Era have this distinct feature one was MGR and other was Sivaji Ganesan.

I will try to post the photos of MGR and Sivaji Ganesan starred film "Kundu Kili"

Picture Festival

This stance is from Anbae Vaa, where MGR plays a Industrialist JB (J.Balasubramanian) with beautiful costumes and nice sets.

One of MGR's Block buster movie Enga Veetu Pillai, dons dual role. This character is called Elangovan with a spoonerism friend Nagesh. This picture is a stint for a fighting scene to quench his thirst as an actor.

This movie was released after MGR became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. "Meenava Nanban" has lot of out door scenes shot mostly in Karnataka.

Teasing song in Thedi vantha Mapillai between MGR Jayalalitha locked inside a Hut in a rainy day.

I think this is one of the film MGR used less costume. A story from rags to riches and emphasizing the greatness of Hard work.

"Sirithu Vazha Vendum" remake of Hindi movie "Zanjeer" which catapulted Amitabh Bachan to stardom. MGR takes two roles one as the Police Officer (Amitabh role) and Casino owner (role of Pran). MGR is wearing a bright orange with black stripes which enhances the whole dream song. The song "Konja neram ennai marendhan" was actually recorded for MGR pictures "Ulagam Sutrum Valiban".

Reposted Again

Reposted again:

This is a scene when MGR gets rid of hunchback while editing this scene I observed these:

Shot 1 : when MGR says "Nobody will say me that I am Hunchback" followed by

Shot 2: Jayalalitha's dialogue, (I have cut this shot not in this clip) and MGR answer shaking his head continuation of shot 1.

Shot 3: "I have raisen"

I have edited the entire scene and cut out scene 2 and astonished on the editing prowess of MGR. Actually this scene has two shots only shots 1 and 2 are shot at the same time using two cameras and giving a look of another shot, shot 1 is taken on the right side and shot 3 from behind him and on the left side, in between shot 2 for Jayalalitha which I edited.

Box Office Record:
Adimai Penn’s release is an attempt in the series of revival of classics, that quite often Tamil cinema witnesses. Re-released last week by Divya Films, the movie has come as a refreshing change for the fans of the yesteryear superstar.
Trade Talk:No dearth of fans at the theatres, that it has been released in relatively big screens is noteworthy.
Public Talk:Crowds at the theatre suggest that MGR’s charm as a legendry actor has never gone out of fashion or would it ever!
No. Weeks Completed: 1No. Shows in Chennai over this weekend: 20Average Theatre Occupancy over this weekend: 48 %Collection over this weekend in Chennai: Rs.565,502Total collections in Chennai by end of the second weekend: Rs.22 Lakhs

MGR2 intro

This is a scene From Adimai Penn when MGR gets rid of his hunchback, watch MGR Fans reaction:
